Bulletstorm VR Releases Today for Meta Quest Platform, PlayStation VR 2 and PC

People Can Fly and Incuvo S.A. today have released  Bulletstorm VR, a reimagining of the dynamically brutal sci-fi first-person shooter Bulletstorm (originally released in 2011) built from the ground up for the Virtual Reality platforms Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, PlayStation®VR 2, and PC via Steam®.

Bulletstorm set itself apart from other shooters on its initial release in 2011, and for those who hadn’t had a chance to experience its kickass kinetic gameplay, they are in for a treat,” said People Can Fly CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski. “We’re thrilled to bring its bombastic and blood-soaked gameplay to virtual reality for a familiar yet unique experience.”

Bulletstorm VR puts players into the battle-hardened boots of Grayson Hunt, an elite badass mercenary stranded in the hostile world of Stygia inhabited by crazy raiders to colossal sky-scraper-sized beasts. Grayson must use an extensive sci-fi arsenal to unleash over-the-top creative carnage with fast-paced gunplay and devastating melee combos to survive Stygia and confront the ex-commander who betrayed him. Players can maximize carnage combos for better rewards, such as unlocking new weapons, charging shots, and ammo capacity.

Bulletstorm VR enhances the explosive and creative action by introducing exclusive content not seen in the original game. Bulletstorm VR features dual-wielding, allowing the player to use two unique guns simultaneously, one in each hand, for a double dose of VR damage dealing. Players can also slice and dice through two brand new campaign levels as Trishka Novak, a newly playable badass babe on the hunt to send her father’s killer back to hell. In these levels, Trishka dual wields a new Energy Blade weapon to slash, slice, dash, and dismember enemies.

“Our team has been huge fans of Bulletstorm for as long as we can remember and always felt the game would shine in VR – we are both honored and excited to bring this iconic game to the modern era,” said Radomir Kucharski, Vice President of Production for Incuvo. “We hope everyone enjoys an explosive and chaotic experience that surpasses our memories and dreams.”

I've been an avid gamer since I stumbled upon ZORK running in my local Radio Shack in 1980. Ten years later I was working for Sierra Online. Since then I've owned nearly every game system and most of the games to go with them. Not sure if 40+ years of gaming qualifies me to write reviews, but I do it anyway.
