Brian Cox Recaps The Tekken Saga and ‘One Hell of A Story’ Coming to TEKKEN 8, As Only Brian Cox Can

Brian Cox (Succession, Braveheart) is here to help anyone needing a refresher on the storyline in TEKKEN™, helping fans prepare for the epic events of TEKKEN™ 8. The sequel continues the battle between the Mishima and Kazama clans, a fiery family feud that now engulfs the globe. Coming nearly six years since the events of TEKKEN™ 7, and adding yet another chapter to the storyline recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest running narrative in video game history, it’s understandable that some peoples’ memory of key events might be foggy. In a new trailer released by Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., Brian Cox, the classically trained Scottish thespian with his notorious ‘tell it like it is’ style, will take that fog off.

“Every single fight, no matter how big or small, has a story behind it,” Cox says in the trailer. “That’s why when it comes to TEKKEN and the King of the Iron Fist tournament, there’s one hell of a story to tell.”

In TEKKEN 8, as “The Dark Awakens,” Kazuya Mishima’s vision of hell on earth is now threatening all of humanity. After Heihachi’s defeat, the world has descended into chaos with Kazuya’s power growing and his G Corporation wreaking worldwide havoc. The only one who can stop him is his own son, Jin Kazama, but only if he can reignite the unspeakable power of Devil Jin that runs through his veins.

“How did we even get to this point, what the hell is a Devil Jin?” Cox asks.

The answers are in the trailer. Where things go from here will become clear in the epic Story Mode in TEKKEN 8. Players will experience the TEKKEN saga as never before with stunning visual detail and all the features coming to TEKKEN 8, engaging in heart-pounding battles featuring completely remodeled characters, destructible environments, and an all-new “Aggressive” battle system that keeps the action at a high level. The game is coming on January 26, 2024, to PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC via Steam®. For more information, visit https://tekken.com/.

I've been an avid gamer since I stumbled upon ZORK running in my local Radio Shack in 1980. Ten years later I was working for Sierra Online. Since then I've owned nearly every game system and most of the games to go with them. Not sure if 40+ years of gaming qualifies me to write reviews, but I do it anyway.
