New Split Fiction Trailer Showcases Character’s Side Stories and Co-op Gameplay

Today, Hazelight released another trailer for Split Fiction, the studio’s boundary-pushing co-op adventure that lets players jump between sci-fi and fantasy worlds.

In the trailer, Hazelight founder, Josef Fares, showcases more of the inventive co-op mechanics and ever-changing gameplay variety the studio is known for. The video will also show off Side Stories: optional one-off adventures hidden in the main story levels that shake up the mechanics even more, as main characters Mio and Zoe surf on sandfish and snowboard down a mountain in the middle of a futuristic battlefield. Learn more about Side Stories in a new blog post HERE.

In Split Fiction, players work together as Mio, a realist Sci-Fi writer, and Zoe, an optimistic fantasy novelist, embark on a split-screen adventure through their own stories. As they leap across thrilling and radically contrasting worlds in their attempt to escape, players will coordinate with each other and build new skills and tools all while uncovering the power of unexpected friendship.

Split Fiction will launch March 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and the EA app for $49.99. Players can also invite a friend to play with them for free on any platform (Crossplay on PS, Xbox & PC) with the Friend’s Pass.

I've been an avid gamer since I stumbled upon ZORK running in my local Radio Shack in 1980. Ten years later I was working for Sierra Online. Since then I've owned nearly every game system and most of the games to go with them. Not sure if 40+ years of gaming qualifies me to write reviews, but I do it anyway.
