Norman Lenda, Creative Director at Ironbird Creations, delivered a foreword on Phantom Hellcat’s extra look at gameplay detailing the 2010-inspired, Western design approach to slashing action.

“It is a love letter to the generation of games full of dynamic props and armies with more than one million troops,” Lenda explains. “We will take you to the golden age of slashers which defined the console gaming experience a decade ago.”

Knock foes around the environment to bring a set wall crashing down or launch opponents into the band pit with sets based on stories from pop culture like Dracula.

All in! Games (known for publishing Ghostrunner, Chernobylite, more) debuted an extended gameplay trailer from Ironbird Creations, for their new IP, Phantom Hellcat during the Future Games Show at Gamescom. The hack-n-slash passion project will slice its way onto PlayStation, Xbox, and PCs everywhere upon release.

The extended trailer showcases a variety of dilapidated environments to explore including a crumbling castle, haunted library, and spotlight stage. Lengthy, visceral sword combos and perspective shifting camerawork highlight the diverse visual offerings that the Polish team is preparing for the world.

I've been an avid gamer since I stumbled upon ZORK running in my local Radio Shack in 1980. Ten years later I was working for Sierra Online. Since then I've owned nearly every game system and most of the games to go with them. Not sure if 40+ years of gaming qualifies me to write reviews, but I do it anyway.
