Yakuza: Like a Dragon Launches Day One on Xbox Series X

by

Yakuza: Like a Dragon, an explosive new entry point in the acclaimed Yakuza series, will be releasing as a launch title on the next-gen Xbox Series X, with simultaneous releases on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.

We’re also excited to announce that Yakuza: Like a Dragon will support Xbox Series X Smart Delivery immediately on release. That means if you’ve purchased the Xbox One version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, you’ll be entitled to a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X console version. Cross-save functionality between Xbox One and Xbox Series X is also supported, so no matter when you decide to upgrade to Xbox Series X, you’ll never have to start over from scratch.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is, at its core, an underdog story about fighting for what you believe in, even when you’re up against impossible odds. You’ll step into the shoes of Ichiban Kasuga, a low-ranking grunt of a low-ranking yakuza family, betrayed, alone, and left on the brink of death by the man he trusted most.

Set in modern-day Yokohama, Japan, you’ll fight your way up from rock bottom in dynamic RPG combat as you gather a party of misfits from the outskirts of society, each with their own deep backstory and motivations. Level up 19 different ‘Jobs’ far from traditional RPG fare: Ichiban isn’t a Warrior or a Mage, but he can be a Bodyguard, a Musician, or even a Chef! Each Job has completely unique strengths and skills – you can mix and match to find the right setup for any encounter.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon has far more than just action and drama – Yokohama truly comes alive as you explore and discover a seemingly endless supply of hilarious minigames and substories spread throughout the city. Take a break from cracking skulls with a few songs at the karaoke parlor or visit one of the Sega Arcades around the city; there’s always something new to uncover.

Stay tuned in the coming months for more information about the release of Yakuza: Like a Dragon to prepare for its day one launch on Xbox Series X, including more gameplay details, jobs, skills, recruitable party members, minigames, substories, and everything else you’ll encounter on your journey!
