XCOM: Chimera Squad Available Today on Steam!

Prep your squad and prepare to Breach! A brand new standalone adventure in the XCOM universe begins – XCOM: Chimera Squad is now available on Steam for the special introductory price of $9.99!*

XCOM: Chimera Squad takes place five years after the events of the previous XCOM games, where humanity has successfully overthrown the Elder’s control of earth. With ADVENT gone and the invaders free of the Elder’s mind control, humans, aliens and hybrids must now find a way to move on from the conflict and forge a new civilization of cooperation and co-existence. City 31 is a model for that potential path forward, but the fragile peace threatens to shatter from the machinations of underground factions.

Enter Chimera Squad – an elite force of human, hybrid and alien agents sent to City 31 to investigate and prevent the city from going to chaos. Each agent in XCOM: Chimera Squad is unique – possessing exclusive skills, personalities and backstories that come to life in and out of tactical combat.

XCOM: Chimera Squad features bold new changes to the traditional XCOM formula, such as a more-focused story with humans, hybrids and aliens, Interleaved Turns and Breach Mode. Both XCOM veterans and players new to the franchise can look forward to exciting challenges and mechanics in XCOM: Chimera Squad.

As part of 2K’s XCOM franchise sale that celebrates the support of its global community, XCOM: Chimera Squad is available as a single digital download for Windows PC on Steam at the special limited-time introductory price of $9.99. It will be available at its suggested retail price of $19.99 on May 1, 2020.

*Steam offer ends 10:00 a.m. PDT May 1, 2020 (and equivalent time zones where offer is available.) Pricing and availability may vary by region. See steampowered.com for details. Terms apply. No rainchecks.

I've been an avid gamer since I stumbled upon ZORK running in my local Radio Shack in 1980. Ten years later I was working for Sierra Online. Since then I've owned nearly every game system and most of the games to go with them. Not sure if 40+ years of gaming qualifies me to write reviews, but I do it anyway.
