Trine 4: Melody of Mystery Expansion Now Available on PC for Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince

Publisher Modus Games and developer Frozenbyte today announced Trine 4: Melody of Mystery, a story-driven expansion campaign for Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince, is now available on PC (Steam, GOG, Humble Store) for $7.99 USD. The expansion will arrive on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in Spring 2021.

Trine 4: Melody of Mystery beckons the series’ endearing trio of heroes—Amadeus, Pontius, and Zoya—back to the Astral Academy to investigate a mystical slumber which has enveloped the academy’s students.  With a suspicious and mistakenly freed spirit on the loose, Amadeus, Pontius, and Zoya’s encore journey will lead them through six all-new levels, where they’ll master upgraded abilities while solving new puzzles.

Trine 4: Melody of Mystery includes:

  • 6 all-new and exciting levels set in strange and unpredictable dream worlds
  • New music tracks to accompany the levels and story
  • Full voice acting and localizations
  • New upgrades for the heroes’ skills: Freezing Blink, Explosive Objects, Ricochet Arrows, Hazard Trail, Leaping Lightning, and Charged Dream Shield
  • New gameplay with ice, torches, magnets and crystals

The base game, Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince, is required to play the Melody of Mystery expansion.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince returns the classic side-scrolling platforming series to its roots, smartly shifting its puzzle designs to accommodate solo players or parties of up to four heroes. Players must cleverly combine the distinct abilities of a crafty wizard, hearty knight, and mischievous thief in and out of combat as they explore a fantastical fairytale landscape, dashing to save the world from the troubled Nightmare Prince’s shadowy threats.

I've been an avid gamer since I stumbled upon ZORK running in my local Radio Shack in 1980. Ten years later I was working for Sierra Online. Since then I've owned nearly every game system and most of the games to go with them. Not sure if 40+ years of gaming qualifies me to write reviews, but I do it anyway.
