The Descendant Ep. 1: Aftermath – Watch 10 Minutes of In-Game Footage

With just two weeks before the game launches on Steam, it’s time to get the closest look yet at The Descendant, the upcoming episodic narrative adventure, as today Gaming Corps has released a video showcasing the first ten minutes of Episode 1: Aftermath.

In this video, players will get to witness the game’s full introduction, gaining insight into the creepy Ark facilities where humans lie in cryostasis, along with a taste of the backstory and gameplay elements they’ll experience throughout The Descendant.

The first episode of The Descendant, which is set for a March 24 release on Steam, will immerse players in an interactive adventure set centuries after an eco-apocalypse. In this mysterious new world, players will then experience two timelines from the perspectives of two unique characters.

In the first timeline, set in the ‘future-past’, you’ll play as Mia, a ‘janitor’ tasked with keeping the chosen humans housed inside Ark-01 alive, while in the ‘future-present’ you’ll play as Donnie, one of the investigators trying to rescue any descendants trapped within the facility.

An ‘Exclusive Season 1 Bundle’ is available now from the game’s official website until 48 hours before the first episode releases. This pre-launch bundle includes all five episodes of the game (with episodes 2 -5 to be released over the course of 2016), grants players 48-hours early access to each episode, and features a full game Soundtrack, a Digital Poster and a Digital Art Book.

I've been an avid gamer since I stumbled upon ZORK running in my local Radio Shack in 1980. Ten years later I was working for Sierra Online. Since then I've owned nearly every game system and most of the games to go with them. Not sure if 40+ years of gaming qualifies me to write reviews, but I do it anyway.
