Tabletop Playground To Launch May 15th In Early Access On PC & VR
Modularity Games and Plasticity Studios have revealed that Tabletop Playground will be launching in early access on May 15th, for $15 USD. Featuring 8 player online multiplayer, satisfying controls with VR support, modern graphics and realistic physics powered by Unreal Engine 4, it’s the modern digital board game sim for a new generation.
Tabletop fans “zooming” at home will be able to play a wide range of games with friends, or jump into the in-game sandbox and use the accessible but advanced tools to get creative and make their own board games.
Tabletop Playground Features
- 8 player online multiplayer
- Modern and satisfying controls, with VR support for Oculus Rift & HTC VIVE
- Specialised tools for niche tabletop gaming genres
- Gorgeous graphics and realistic physics powered by Unreal Engine 4
- Cross platform and store mod support through mod.io
Our community has created over a hundred games during our beta, which will all be available to play on May 15th. User creations are all hosted through mod.io, meaning they’ll be available for players on all platforms and storefronts Tabletop Playground releases on in the future.
We’ve developed an extensive road-map of features we plan to add during early access, from UI scripting to allow creators to further customize their games, more 3D environments and tabletop game pieces to allow for greater customization and further language localizations. We’ll be releasing a full road-map for Tabletop Playground’s early access period soon, which we expect to last for just over six months.
