It’s time to let out the loudest grito ever as celebrated independent video game developer Drinkbox Studios launches its long-awaited, Metroidvania action-platformer Guacamelee! 2 TOMORROW on both PlayStation®4 and PC/Steam for $19.99 / €19.99. Check out the brand new launch trailer here.

Starting tomorrow, players can purchase Guacamelee! 2 from the PlayStation™Store at https://bit.ly/2ACLSbG, with PlayStation®Plus members getting a 10% discount. Steam users can acquire the game at https://bit.ly/2OBFbtb, and also get a 10% discount, plus a coupon for an additional 10% off in their Steam inventory if they own the original game on Steam.

Guacamelee! 2 brings former hero Juan Aguacate out of retirement to stop a powerful and ruthless luchador who has emerged as the ruler of a parallel timeline. Juan must once again don his special luchador mask and tights, and fight his way through the worlds of the living and the dead (plus time and space) in an attempt to save his family… and the entire Mexiverse! Set in a unique world full of challenges, adventure and humor, Guacamelee! 2 expands upon the original game by introducing new levels, enemies, characters, and gameplay mechanics for the ultimate high-flying luchador experience.

“Mexico is such a vibrant and colorful country. Oftentimes that stuff doesn’t make the front page news, so we wanted to put it front and center in Guacamelee 2” said Augusto Quijano, Concept Lead at Drinkbox Studios. “Mexican folklore heavily influenced and shaped the areas, characters, enemies and music of Guacamelee 2. If you were a fan of the first game you will have a completely new, yet familiar experience. If this is your first time playing, I hope you have as much fun exploring this rich world as we had making it!”

I've been an avid gamer since I stumbled upon ZORK running in my local Radio Shack in 1980. Ten years later I was working for Sierra Online. Since then I've owned nearly every game system and most of the games to go with them. Not sure if 40+ years of gaming qualifies me to write reviews, but I do it anyway.
